Freya celebrates Earth Day by planting killer trees
With Hodir freed from the Old God's control, we moved to the Conservatory of Life, the domain of Freya. Much like Sholozar Basin, which her avatar still defended, Freya's chamber was a lush garden of plant life. Denizens of the Emerald Dream such as Keepers of the Grove and emerald drakes stood guard along the paths throughout the chamber, and three treant Elders empowered Freya from seperate corners.

We fought through the guardians and patrols, taking down each Elder one by one to remove Freya's extra defenses. When nothing was left standing we attacked, but a shield of healing power kept her from taking any damage. The only way to remove it was to deal with Freya's minions, including a large treant guardian, a water elemental and two kinds of lashers, as well as a group of smaller lashers. In addition, thin trees called Eonar's Gift would sprout that would heal Freya and her minions for tremendous amounts if not destroyed quickly.

By dealing with the minions and then turning all our attention towards Freya, we succeeded in releasing her from the Old God's influence and she also agreed to aid us when we needed her.

Frost/Hodir
A freezing wind beckoned us through the eastern corridor toward the first Watcher. After fighting through groups of jormungar worms, frost giants and ice elementals, we found the chamber of Hodir. This ancient warrior was the revered demigod of the frost giants of Dun Niffelem, the Sons of Hodir. Breaking him free of his curse would not be easy, but we owed it to them to do our best.

Although he had been a master of physical combat for countless millennia, Hodir also had amazing control over the powers of frost. As we battled him, he caused icicles to form above us and crash to the floor, doing damage and sending us flying backwards. Periodically, he charged his weapon with frost energy that reverberated throughout the chamber, doing tremendous damage to our forces.

Luckily, a group of Kirin Tor volunteers consisting of druids, shamans, mages and priests were on hand to help us out, as long as we could keep them unfrozen and in the fight. That became harder to accomplish as Hodir unleashed his most devastating spell, a flash freeze that blasted across the chamber in every direction. Only by huddling on top of huge snowdrifts were we able to avoid becoming blocks of ice like our allies. However, with our combined forces we managed to cause enough pain to Hodir that his haze lifted and he agreed to aid us in the battle with Yogg-Saron.

Crazy Cat Lady
After crossing back over the bridge formerly known as Kologarn, we found ourselves on a ring of platforms that overlooked the prison of Yogg-Saron; the ceiling of his cell was shattered, its shards suspended in mid-air and the spectral chains that held him in place had been broken apart. But instead of an Old God, the remains of his prison held a lone mortal woman - a Vrykul female named Sara. She cried out in agony and although her purpose was unknown to us, it seemed that Yogg-Saron had trapped her there, slowly tormenting her into madness.

Eventually, we would free her but in order to do so we had to find a path to the lower level as well as find the Watchers still under Yogg-Saron's influence. The entrances to their sections of Ulduar were guarded by a Titan avatar known as Auriaya. The giantess was accompanied by a group of nightsabers and their patrols took them around the far side of the chamber. We waited until they reached the farthest edge of their route and then we made our strike. The cats shared a bond that increased their damage so we did our best to keep them seperated, taking them out one by one.

After they were dead we shifted our focus to Auriaya, but she had a couple tricks up her sleeve; she summoned a wild feline spirit that went on a rampage, as well as summoning a wave of smaller cats. We fought the animals while dealing with her formidable spells, trying to strike a balance between them while trying to let her cast as little as possible, and soon she was defeated.

Hot & Cold
As we ventured further into Ulduar, we encountered a seemingly endless supply of iron constructs and corrupted stone guardians, all with weapons or armaments of some kind. With Mimiron and his machines still waiting deep in the recesses of Ulduar, we decided our next target had to be the source of all things metal - Ignis the Furnace Master.

This giant was a blacksmith, the personal weapons maker for the Keepers before he also fell under Yogg-Saron's influence. We entered the Colossal Forge area off the main courtyard outside and fought with the giant. He constantly poured pools of magma onto the ground and he also summoned a small army of freshly-made constructs to come to his defense.

However, by using the fire to heat up the constructs and then using the nearby pools of water to cool them off, they turned brittle and shattered, causing Ignis to lose some of his power. Despite this, he continued his assault, which included grabbing victims at random and throwing them into his slag pot that would sear them for incredible damage. By keeping up a constant cycle of heating, cooling and destroying the constructs, Ignis eventually weakened to the point where he was defeated.

Kologarn's right to bear arms
While Brann investigated the Archivum's data, we continued our trek through Ulduar, going up a staircase in the central hallway. There at the top we found our path blocked by a gigantic construct named Kologarn. The giant was standing defensively, daring us to attack him. We were more than willing to oblige and charged at the guardian. Kologarn towered over us and used his size to his advantage, using his left arm to sweep across the platform and cause massive damage while his right arm would pluck a few victims and attempt to squeeze the life from them.

Our strategy consisted of breaking his right arm apart and then focusing our attacks on the torso. However, he frequently sent out two beams of energy from his eyes to try and break our coordination, and when the right arm finally crumbled, small rock elementals rose from its debris. They were quickly dealt with and we continued our attacks on his mid-section until he was destroyed. His remains formed a rudimentary bridge that we used to cross into the central chamber of Ulduar.
