Tonight we went back to Serpentshrine Cavern. We fought our way through endless swarms of naga, Broken and bog giants, and finally the chamber of Lady Vashj was within our sights. Ironically, in order to get to her, we had to defeat a blood elf who had no sight at all...
Leotheras the Blind was one of Illidan's favorite pupils; one of the first and strongest of the blood elves to become a demon hunter. Unfortunantly, while meddling with agents of the Burning Legion might work for your friendly neighborhood warlock, Leotheras had succumbed to the power of his own inner demon - a being of unmitigated evil and pure malice. Tormented by his dark master, Leotheras proceeded to go batshit crazy on anyone who tried to antagonize his inner demon - think of him as Outland's version of Lindsey Lohan. His skill with the twin blades was considerable though, and he managed to slice his way through our ranks with deadly speed. But that pesky demon of his also made frequent appearances, and even had the power to manifest our own inner demons; like the time I relieved myself in the fountain of the Mystic Ward after a night of consuming too much sacramental wine. Anyway, towards the end of the battle the elf and demon seperated and tried to destroy us as a team. Despite killing half of our people though, we won the fight and sent Leotheras to go be emo in the next life. All that stands left now is to dethrone the queen of the Outland naga, Lady Vashj! We fell into a burning ring of fire...
The time had come for us to make our move on Kael'thas's favorite pet; his phoenix, Al'ar. The majestic firebird was a site to behold, but a raging inferno of malice dwelt within. It took everything we had, and many fell during the battle, horribly charred by his devastating attacks. In the end, however, through sheer force of will we emerged triumphantly - the beast with the ultimate battle rez would rise no more.
To the blood elves that witnessed the phoenix's fall, it looked as though a small army of Broken, aided by a handful of Azeroth's finest, had performed the transgression. Akama's plan had taken a bold step forward, and now Kael and Illidan would be officially at war with one another. Once we returned to Akama, he instructed us that the next phase of the plan would take us 4 years into the past, to destroy a lich during the Battle of Mount Hyjal...but our DeLoreans were having their flux capacitors redone, so that task would have to wait for another day. But did she know Pluto isn't really a planet?
Having already destroyed half of Serpentshrine Cavern, the members of Slane Baanrit decided that it was time to remind the insidious blood elves that they were still wanted for crimes against Azeroth and Outland.
To this end, we went back to their stronghold of Tempest Keep and invaded the chamber of High Astromancer Solarian, the chief astral researcher for Prince Kael'thas. Being part warlock and part mage, you can imagine much death ensued during the battle with the freakishly-tall blood elf woman...however, she had very little to do with it Nevertheless, after the divine powers brought us back to life, we finally learned how to counter her twisted magics and came out victorious. New items were pilfered by the masses, while I reported the blood elves to the government for steroid abuse. You can see the photo in our Gallery. Posted on 08 Nov 2007 by Bretac
The only good demon is a dead demon!
From the first moment the forces of the Azeroth stepped into Outland, one thing was made clear; the Burning Legion still held dominance over the realm. By battling across the ramparts and into the depths of Hellfire Citadel, the truth of the power behind the fel orcs was revealed; although they worked for Illidan, the orcs took their abilities from blood of the pit lord, Magtheridon.
We decided the threat of the fel orcs could no longer be ignored. After dispatching the warlocks that kept the pit lord under control, we proceeded to show the demon general that even he cannot escape the Light's justice. When the dust settled, Slane Baanrit had finally defeated Magtheridon! His head was placed at Honor Hold, as a tribute to the fallen and a warning to the forces of Illidan and the Legion - to let them know that they too would one day fall before the might of the Alliance! Karathress = Just like Arena PVP!
A shaman, a hunter, a priest and a mace-spec warrior. Best Arena team ever? Nope! Just another speedbump on the road to Lady Vashj. In our first (realistic) attempt at Fathom-Lord Karathress and his cronies, Slane Baanrit emerged victorious yet again! In doing so, we freed Seer Olum, one of Akama's top agents, but unfortunantly, the naga were able to extract from him the truth of Akama's plot to destroy Illidan. The Broken leader was quickly informed, and only by accepting Illidan's decree to wage war on his traitorous lieutenant, Kael'thas, would the plot remain a secret awhile longer.
